The Majority Chief Whip and MP for South Dayi Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has praised Dr. Johnson Asiama, Governor of the Central Bank and Dr. Ato Forson, Minister of Finance for consulting ordinary Ghanaian when making economic decisions.

Mr. Dafeamekpor on X said “this new approach to public service exhibited by the FM & the Governor as well as other appointees of JM is very humbling, refreshing & assuring that we have indeed installed a listening Govt”.

1. Last week, the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forso,n toured market centres in the Western Region to collate views of ordinary market prior to presenting the 2026budget in Parliament.

2. This week, the BoG has organised a 2Day workshop to celebrate the Cedi@60yrs. ,

3. Also just yesterday, Friday, November 21st, 2025, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama, also paid a working visit to the Makola Market, accompanied by the 1st Deputy Governor, Dr. Zaka,ri Mumuni and other staff of the Bank.

4. Dr. Asiama led his team to engage these market women & traders on their daily activities and wellbeing as part of efforts to deepen public awareness and appreciation of the Cedi, the national currency.

5. This outreach forms part of the Cedi@60 campaign, aimed at promoting financial awareness and boosting public confidence in the Ghanaian currency.
