It was an extraordinary occasion for the people of Gomoa Central as the renowned artist and independent MP for the Area, Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as Kwame A-Plus, had the distinct honor of hosting none other than His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama.
The holiday season was alive with joy and anticipation as the illustrious couple chose to spend their Christmas holidays right here in our beautiful constituency, at the serene and scenic Crown Forest.
Beyond the relaxation and festive cheer, their visit carried a powerful message of hope, progress, and unwavering commitment to Ghana’s development. During their stay, President Mahama reassured the people of Gomoa Central of his dedication to transforming our communities and unlocking our full potential.
He announced that the long-awaited Winneba–Swedru Road would soon be fixed, a crucial artery that connects our towns and opens up opportunities. But he didn’t stop there. The President promised new roads would be constructed across Gomoa Central, designed to improve connectivity, facilitate trade, and stimulate economic activity in every corner of the constituency.
One of the most exciting revelations was his personal commitment to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone—a flagship project under the 24-Hour Economy Programme.
This innovative industrial zone aims to operate around the clock, attracting major investments and fostering an environment where businesses can thrive 24/7. In just a few years, this project promises to create sustainable jobs for about 300,000 people, transforming lives and uplifting our local economy.

On the same day, President Mahama also commissioned the Ahmadiyya Poultry Projectat Gomoa Pomadze. This state-of-the-art, automated poultry and livestock farm symbolizes Ghana’s stride towards self-sufficiency. With its advanced technology, the farm is expected to employ many locals, increase local meat production, and significantly cut down Ghana’s reliance on imported meat.
It has the potential to become one of the largest poultry farms in West Africa, a true testament to what visionary leadership can achieve.
Under the inspiring leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Ghana is rising—our nation’s spirit rekindled, and our aspirations taking shape. The Central Region is resetting itself as a hub of progress, and Gomoa Central is opening up for business, investment, and growth.
Gomoa Central, some land rich in history and full of promise, stands at the crossroads of destiny and progress. It is where the dreams of Ghana’s founding father, Kwame Nkrumah—an industrialized nation—meet Mahama’s bold vision of a 24-Hour Economy, redefining what is possible for our country.
This is no longer just an idea on paper. It is no longer a campaign promise. It is happening. The future we have long spoken about is now taking shape—right here, right now, in Gomoa Central.
