Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, Member of Parliament for Keta Constituency in the Volta Region is set to commission a rural electrification project from Monday ,30th December , 2025 that will connect three communities to the national grid for the first time.
The initiative, in conjunction with the Ministry of Energy & Green Transition, will electrify towns like Laworshime, Mamime, and Hagodzi on Monday, 29 Dec 2025.

The second phase will electrify Wenyagor, Alakpakorpe, and Agornugble on Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
The project, according to the MP aimed to power development in thees communities to enhance economic and social activities moving into the year, 2026.
He told fmnewsonline that “Residents will gain access to reliable electricity, improving living standards”.
Hon Gakpey emphasized “Powering Our Communities for Development,” highlighting the project’s role in transforming the Keta Constituency at large.
These projects demonstrate the MP’s commitment to infrastructure development and access to energy by all.
The commissioning ceremony will mark a milestone in bringing electricity to these communities for the first time.
The project is expected to spur economic growth and improve quality of life in the beneficiary communities.
Regional Executives of the NDC, officials form the ECG and the The Ministry of Energy will be in attendance.
