In a bid to deepen diplomatic and economic ties, Dr. Seidu Jasaw, Chairman of the Ghana-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association, hosted a lunch meeting in Accra with Dr. Kunimitsu Ayano, Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, and her team. The gathering was attended by several Ghanaian Members of Parliament, emphasizing the significance of the ongoing bilateral relationship.

During the meeting, discussions centered on strengthening cooperation as Japan seeks to make substantial investments in the Ghanaian economy. Both parties explored frameworks to ensure good governance and regulatory structures that would attract and sustain foreign investment, ultimately providing value for money and fostering mutual growth.

Dr. Ayano shared a personal anecdote about her inspiration to visit Ghana, recalling how her admiration for the country was sparked during her youth as a medical student inspired by Dr. Nuguichi. She expressed her renewed commitment to fostering closer ties based on shared values and collaborative opportunities.

Looking ahead, the two sides emphasized capacity building, benchmarking, and knowledge sharing as key elements of their renewed partnership. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship between Ghana and Japan.
