President John Mahama has appointed the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, in the Volta Region, Etse Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, as the National Chairman of the National Premix Fuel Committee.
Currently, Mr. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor is the Major Chief Whip in Parliament.
National Premix Fuel Secretariat envisaged applying innovative techniques in administering Premix Fuel for optimum productivity in the fishing industry as it is envisioned to be a world-class centre for the Distribution, Sale, and Administration of Premix Fuel.
It main objective is to facilitate the Procurement and Distribution of Premix Fuel to the fishing communities in the Republic.
The secretariat goals:
- To provide quality Premix Fuel to fishing communities across the country,
• To provide and supervise avenues that promote the equitable distribution of Premix Fuel in Ghana
• To consistently address fisher folk grievances that relate to Premix Fuel management,
• To take essential steps to utilize education as a chief tool for instilling responsible fishing ethics including Premix Fuel usage among fisher folks, and
• To aid community development through championing of initiatives that seek to directly affect fisher folks by positively utilizing the 53% community development fund which is a part of the margins generated from the sale of Premix Fuel.
