Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana yesterday, (20th April, 2026) commenced its series of stakeholder engagements in the Ho Municipality with a courtesy visit to the Volta Regional Minister, Honourable James Gunu, at his office at the Regional Coordinating Council.
The visit marked the starting point of ICAG’s outreach efforts ahead of the 2026 Accountants’ Conference, which is scheduled to be hosted in Ho.

The delegation was led by the Chief Executive Officer of ICAG, Mr. Eric Oduro Osae, FCA and included Executives of the Ho District Society of ICAG as well as Directors and Staff of the Institute.
Addressing the Minister, Mr. Oduru Osae outlined the purpose of the visit, noting that it forms part of efforts to engage key stakeholders and secure institutional support for the successful hosting of the conference. He emphasized that beyond its professional relevance, the event is designed to deliver tangible benefits to the people of Ho.
He highlighted planned community-centered activities, particularly financial literacy sessions aimed at equipping residents with practical knowledge in personal finance, savings, and investment.
According to him, these initiatives are intended to ensure that the impact of the conference extends beyond the professional community to the wider public.

In his remarks, Hon. James Gunu expressed appreciation for the gesture and welcomed the delegation warmly. He indicated that he was pleased with the decision to host the 2026 Accountants’ Conference in Ho, describing it as a significant opportunity for the Region.
The Minister pledged his full support for the conference and assured the delegation of his participation. He further reiterated the commitment of the Regional Coordinating Council to collaborate with ICAG to ensure a successful and impactful event.
The courtesy call sets the tone for subsequent engagements with other key stakeholders in the municipality, as ICAG continues preparations towards what is expected to be a major event on Ghana’s professional calendar.
