The Ghana Revenue Authority is conducting a series of sessions from 4th to 8th May for VAT-Registered taxpayers on the E-VAT System. The training focused on helping taxpayers understand and use the E-VAT system correctly. Businesses were reminded that VAT is collected from consumers and must be properly accounted for and paid to the tax authority.
Participants were educated on key requirements, including issuing VAT invoices through a certified system integrated with the Commissioner-General’s platform, maintaining system access, and complying with all regulations. Failure to comply may lead to sanctions.
The session also demonstrated how to use the E-VAT system for invoicing, recording purchases, and generating reports. Both integrated systems and a free invoicing app are available for use.
Overall, the training encouraged compliance, partnership with the tax authority, and proper tax practices to support national development.
