The Volta Regional representative on the Council of State, Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah-Atokple, has hosted WABA title belt holder Saviour Gad at his residence in Weta as the boxer prepares to defend his crown in the coming months.
The reigning champion visited Dr. Atokple to present his WABA belt and outline plans for the upcoming title defence.

“I warmly received the WABA title belt holder, Saviour Gad, in my residence at Weta in my beloved Volta Region,” Dr. Atokple said in a statement.
Pledge of support
Dr. Atokple assured the boxer of his commitment to support his preparation and urged him to maintain focus ahead of the bout.
“I assured Saviour of my commitment towards his preparation to defend the title and encouraged him to continue to work hard for a grand victory,” he said.

He commended Gad’s dedication to boxing despite limited spotlight on his career.
“I salute his dedication to his profession even when there’s little light on him.”
The Council of State member described Gad’s journey as a lesson in discipline. “It’s a pride in such discipline and resilience of such special individuals into these sports. Saviour’s journey is a reminder that greatness is not always born in comfort, but in persistence, sacrifice, and an unyielding belief in one’s craft.”
Dr. Atokple said he remains committed to creating opportunities and support systems to aid the title defence and position the boxer for greater heights.
Saviour Gad won the WABA title earlier this year and is expected to announce details of his first defence soon.
