Sofo Tanko Rashid-Computer has been confirmed as the substantive Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), the agency announced today.
The confirmation recognizes his dedication, leadership, and service to advancing Ghana’s digital inclusion and connectivity goals.
In a congratulatory message, GIFEC said the appointment reflects Mr. Rashid-Computer’s commitment to driving national development through expanded access to electronic communications and digital infrastructure.
“Wishing you continued success and new achievements ahead,” the agency stated, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the organization’s mandate of bridging the digital divide across Ghana.
As Administrator and CEO, Mr. Rashid-Computer will oversee GIFEC’s core mandate of providing universal access to basic telephony, internet, and broadcasting services in underserved and unserved communities across the country.
His leadership is expected to play a key role in supporting the government’s broader digital transformation agenda, including efforts to expand broadband coverage, promote digital literacy, and integrate technology into education, health, and economic activities.
GIFEC said it looks forward to his continued contribution to building a more inclusive and connected Ghana under his substantive leadership.
