Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon in the Greater Accra Region and the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs, has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to education and youth development. This year, she supported a total of 3,305 candidates preparing to sit for the 2026 BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) in her constituency.

To ensure these students have the best environment to excel, the La Dadekotopon Municipal Education Directorate, together with the MP and other stakeholders, organized a comprehensive schedule to visit and support the BECE examination centers across the constituency. This initiative aimed to motivate students, address concerns, and ensure smooth examination conduct.

A Well-Organized Inspection and Support Schedule

The support activities took place over five days, from May 4th to May 8th, 2026. The team visited multiple centers each day, focusing on key locations within the constituency.

Day One (4/5/26): The team started at the La Wireless Compound in Wireless, then moved to Justice N. A. Ollenu Memorial School behind Kpogas, La Emmaus Compound behind La Pressec, South La Estate Prim. Compound in Kaajano, and the Osu Home School Compound in Kaajano.

Day Two (5/5/26): The focus shifted to Burma Camp, with visits to Service Primary/JHS Compound, Garrison Compound, Burma Camp Compound, Gondar Compound, and Forces Primary/JHS Compound.

Day Three (6/5/26):  The team visited Christ the King International School in Cantomant, Bod Compound at El-Wak Stadium, and repeated visits to some centers from previous days to ensure all candidates received support.

Day Four (7/5/26):  The support continued at Burma Camp and other centers, emphasizing the importance of readiness for the upcoming exams.

Day Five (8/5/26): The final day saw visits to South La Estate in Kaajano, Osu Home School Compound, Christ the King School, Bod Compound, and La Wireless Compound.

Throughout these visits, Rita Sowah and her team encouraged the students to stay focused, work hard, and demonstrate their best during the exams. Her presence and support served as a morale booster for the candidates, many of whom expressed confidence and gratitude.

A Commitment to Education and Youth Development

Rita Naa Odoley Sowah’s active involvement illustrates her dedication to empowering young people through education. By supporting thousands of students, she is helping to lay a solid foundation for their future and the development of La Dadekotopon.

Her efforts remind us that community leaders play a vital role in fostering educational excellence and ensuring that every child has access to quality learning environments.

The MP was accompanied by the MCE for the Area and the Municipal Director of Education.

As the students prepare to sit for their exams, they do so with the encouragement and backing of their MP, confident that their success is a shared goal.
