The Mayor of Tema, Ebi Bright launched the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) in Tema, where tools and equipment were presented to master craftspersons and apprentices to support skills training on Monday, May 11, 2026,
She described the event as a proud moment, noting that the programme was a key promise in her campaign and a practical response to youth unemployment in the metropolis.
Hon. Ebi Bright urged beneficiaries to regard the tools as start-up capital and make good use of them to secure sustainable livelihoods through employment or self-employment.
She commended President John Dramani Mahama for allocating GHS300 million in the 2025 budget to support the initiative, and thanked the National Youth Authority, the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment and other stakeholders for making the programme possible
