The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has continued his working visit to the Volta Region with a series of engagements aimed at strengthening collaboration with traditional authorities and assessing key infrastructure projects under the Ministry.

As part of the visit, the Minister paid a courtesy call on the Chiefs and elders of the Asogli Traditional Area in Ho, where he expressed appreciation for their role in promoting peace, security and development in the region. He stressed the importance of partnership between traditional authorities and the security services in maintaining law and order and fostering national cohesion.

Hon. Muntaka reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to deepening engagement with traditional leaders, noting that their support remains crucial in addressing emerging security challenges and sustaining the peace for which the Volta Region is known.

The Minister also inspected the ongoing Ghana Immigration Service Regional Headquarters project in Ho. He received updates on the progress of work and urged the contractors to ensure timely completion while adhering to the required standards. He noted that the facility, upon completion, would enhance the operational capacity of the Ghana Immigration Service and improve service delivery in the region.

As part of his tour, Hon. Muntaka visited the Ho Central Prison, where he interacted with prison officers and inmates and assessed conditions at the facility. The visit provided an opportunity for the Minister to gain first-hand insight into the challenges confronting the prison and discuss measures to improve infrastructure, welfare and rehabilitation programmes.
