The leadership of the Ghana Law Society led by its President Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor today paid a courtesy call on the Right Honourable Speaker of Parliament to formally introduce its new executives and outline key initiatives aimed at transforming the legal profession.

During the meeting, the Society highlighted significant milestones, including growing student membership base of over 6,000, the successful establishment of a digital portal and mobile app, and the opening of a new office.

The Society also briefed the Speaker on plans for an upcoming Bar Conference, which promises to be a landmark event for legal practitioners across the country.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker congratulated the Ghana Law Society on its impressive student membership drive, noting that such efforts are crucial for promoting professionalism and ethical conduct at the earliest stages of legal education. He emphasized that the ongoing constitutional review process presents a strategic opportunity to create space for professional associations beyond the Ghana Bar Association, fostering a more inclusive and collaborative legal ecosystem.

Expressing optimism about the future, the Speaker stated that he looks forward to the Society’s upcoming Bar Conference and encouraged the executives to continue their progressive work. The visit underscored a shared commitment between the Legislature and the legal profession to strengthen Ghana’s democratic institutions and regulatory frameworks
