The Speaker of Parliament, S.K. Alban Bagbin, has highly commended the Ghana Law Society for its aggressive student mentorship drive, saying early professional grooming is key to building a disciplined and ethical legal profession.
He congratulated The Society on its impressive student membership drive, stressing the fact that such efforts are crucial for promoting professionalism and ethical conduct at the earliest stages of legal education.

The Speaker Bagbin made the remarks when the Leadership of The Society, led by President Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, paid a courtesy call on him to introduce new executives and outline initiatives to transform the legal profession.
Hon. Bagbin also emphasized that the ongoing constitutional review process presents a strategic opportunity to create space for professional associations beyond the good old Ghana Bar Association.

That, he said, would foster a more inclusive and collaborative legal ecosystem for all.
Expressing optimism about the future, the Speaker said he looks forward to the Society’s upcoming Bar Conference and encouraged the executives to continue their progressive work.
The visit, he added, underscored a shared commitment between Parliament and the legal profession to strengthen Ghana’s democratic institutions and regulatory frameworks.

Key Society initiatives highlighted by Lawyer Dafeamekpor among others are Student membership growth and accordingly over 6,000 student members recruited, making mentorship and professional orientation a central focus.
The Society has to it credit a successful establishment of a digital portal and mobile app to improve access for members and students.
On the inssues of infrastructure, Mr. Dafeamekpor spoke about the opening of a new office to support the Society’s expanding operations nationwide.
Creditical on the board is the plans for an upcoming national Bar Conference as a landmark event for legal practitioners across the country.
The Speaker however, urged The Society to sustain its mentorship programmes as Ghana’s legal sector evolves to meet new challenges.
