Construction works on the 24.07km Todome-Kpalime to Tongor-Dzemeni road project have reached another significant stage, with contractors now moving to the next phase of development.
In an update issued on Monday, 3rd August 2026, the South Dayi NDC Constituency Executives announced that sub-base works have been completed.
The phase involved filling and leveling the road with gravel.
According to the statement, the project has now commenced base works to stabilize the road for asphalt laying.
“The base material being used is a mixture of 0mm and 40mm quarry stone combined with gravel,” the update noted.
“The men are working assiduously on site,” it added.
The statement expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for prioritizing road infrastructure in the Volta Region.

Significance:
The 24.07km Todome-Kpalime to Tongor-Dzemeni road is expected to improve connectivity, boost trade and agriculture, and ease transportation for communities in the South Dayi District and beyond.
