The Ministry of Health has constituted a committee to investigate matters concerning the unrest at the Nursing Training College, Techiman-Krobo.
The committee is expected to establish the facts surrounding the issues which led to the unrest in the school, review and determine whether existing policies, code of conduct and administrative procedures have been complied with, and make recommendations to the Minister for Health for appropriate action.
Statement issued by the Spokesperson for the Ministry, Tony Goodman said the committee is expected to submit a comprehensive report to the Minister on or before 11th August, 2026.
The committee comprises the following members:
1. Prof. Vida Nyagre Yekong – Deputy Registrar of Health Facilities Regulatory Authority, Nurse and former Dean of School of Nursing, UDS.
2. Mr. Ahmed Bennett Mumuni – Human Resource Manager of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council.
3. Nana Asa Akon Panin – Techiman-Krobohene
4. Mrs. Hepthzebah Gyimah – Deputy Director of Operations; Representative of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
5. Mrs. Isha Sena Iddrisu – Secretary to the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions
6. Nashiru-Deen Akparibo – President of the Ghana Nurse-Midwife Trainees’ Association (GNMTA)
7. Dr. Inua Yussuf Issahaku Esq. – Legal Director of the Ministry of Health.
The Committee shall be chaired by Prof. Vida Nyagre Yekong.
