The Minister for the Interior has announced that 10,000 successful applicants into Ghana’s security services have commenced training.
The Minister said the recruits are for the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Prisons Service and the Ghana Immigration Service.
He added that a second batch of another 10,000 will be called for training next year, to be selected from the existing pool of successful applicants.
He made the disclosure at the Government Accountability Series held in Accra on Monday.
The ongoing recruitment exercise forms part of government’s efforts to strengthen the manpower base of the internal security agencies.
