EPA Public Service Workers’ Division welcomes Dr. Zanetor Rawlings to the Ministry

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Division of Public Service Workers, under the Trade Union Congress (TUC), has extended its congratulatory message and welcome to the Ministry, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, the newly sworn-in Minister of Environment, Science and Technology.

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings into office as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.

The ceremony was held at the Jubilee House on Saturday, 29 August 2026, following her approval by Parliament.

Daniel Lawson, the Divisional Chairman of the Public Service Workers Union, expressed optimism about the future collaboration between the EPA and the new Minister, in an exclusive interview with fmnewsonline.com,

 Mr. Lawson stated, “As an authority under the Ministry she has been appointed to manage, the EPA is ever ready to work closely with the new Minister to protect our environment and promote a sustainable ecosystem for all.”

Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, a prominent figure, MP and Member of the Rawlings family, is coming in as illegal mining has become a torn in the flesh of the government with numerous calls to deal with menace finally.

 Her appointments follow the recent ministerial reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and environmental management in the country.

The EPA and its workers look forward to a productive partnership with Dr. Rawlings as she assumes her new role, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection in national development.

Dr Agyeman-Rawlings took the Oath of Allegiance, Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy, formally marking the beginning of her tenure at the Ministry.

President Mahama charged the Minister to strengthen environmental regulation, intensify efforts against illegal mining, promote scientific research and support innovation across key sectors including agriculture, healthcare, energy, climate resilience and manufacturing.

The Authority welcomes Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings and looks forward to advancing Ghana’s environmental sustainability, scientific development and technological innovation agenda under her leadership.
