The Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government has commenced a 12 -day public hearing to consider the 2025 Annual Statements of the Audit Committees of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs), and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
The hearing is aimed at identifying financial irregularities and putting measures in place to strengthen financial discipline and accountability within the District Assemblies and Regional Coordinating Councils.
Appearing before the Committee today are officials from the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council and selected MMDAs, including the Ledzokuku, Ga East, Ayawaso East, Ayawaso Central, Ayawaso West, Adentan, Ayawaso North, La Nkwantanang-Madina, Tema West, Ga West, Ga Central, Korle Klottey, Okaikwei North, Ga North, Tema Metropolitan, Kpone Katamanso, Krowor, Ningo Prampram and Ablekuma Central Assemblies.
