The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs Matilda Asante-Asiedu, has urged women leaders to look beyond titles and measure their leadership by the impact they make in their institutions, families and communities.
Speaking at the Executive Women Network’s (EWN) 10th Anniversary Conference on 2 October 2026, she encouraged women to keep developing their skills as technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity reshape the financial sector.
The conference was held under the theme, “A Decade of Leadership, A Future Towards Holistic Impact.”

Mrs Asante-Asiedu also called on women to pursue financial independence through investing, building businesses and creating wealth. She urged leaders and institutions to open doors, provide opportunities and sponsor the next generation of women leaders.
Her challenge to attendees was: “One name. One door. Thirty days.”
She asked each woman to identify someone whose career, business or confidence she could help advance, and to open a door for her within 30 days.
Congratulating EWN on a decade of building a community of women leaders, Mrs Asante-Asiedu said the future of women’s leadership would be measured not only by how many women reach senior positions, but also by how many they empower and bring along.
