The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Burkina Faso’s Société Nationale Burkinabè d’Hydrocarbures (SONABHY), Mr. Forogo Patrice, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, Esq., to formally introduce himself and express appreciation for Ghana’s continued partnership and support.

The visit provided an opportunity for both leaders to reaffirm the longstanding relationship between Ghana and Burkina Faso in the petroleum sector and explore avenues for strengthening cooperation for mutual benefit.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr Tameklo expressed Ghana’s desire to deepen its role in the supply and transportation of petroleum products to Burkina Faso, emphasising the significant opportunities available to both countries through increased trade.
He noted that there was considerable potential for expanding trade between the two countries, particularly through the movement and trading of refined petroleum products.
On his part, Mr. Patrice expressed gratitude to Ghana for its continued cooperation and support, highlighting the importance of strengthening the relationship, particularly in petroleum financing and trade.
The visit reinforces the NPA’s commitment to fostering strong bilateral and regional relationships, promoting petroleum trade and supporting cooperation among industry institutions within the West African sub-region.
