The Ketu North Municipal Chief Executive, Rev. Martin Amenaki, has pledged to fix the damaged Road between Klenormadi and Atsikpey in the coming days.

He assured everyone that the Assembly had taken notice of the sad development very seriously and “we are working on a plan to fix the road as soon as possible.”

He acknowledged how difficult this has been, stressing the point that “you have not been forgotten, and we are committed to finding a lasting solution”.

The MCE said this when he visited the Area with the Municipal Engineers and Technical staff to ascertain the facts on the ground as they conducted a Rapid Assessment of the situation.

””

”From our assessment, it’s clear that the road was poorly constructed and the drainage was not properly done.

This caused the overflow that damaged the road”.

Earlier this week, the MCE received reports from residents of Klenormadi and Atsikpey about the serious damage to the road that connects the two towns.

The said road has been flooded, moving and g to the communities nearly impossible.

This route is a lifeline for many people, especially farmers and traders.

Due to this situation, residents from places like Agorvega and surrounding areas now have to travel through Avalavi.

A journey that should take just five minutes now takes over an hour.

This has disrupted daily life and affected farming and business activities across six electoral areas namely: Avalavi-Klenormadi, Tsiyinu-Agorvega, Weta, Avekordome-Adzortsi, Dekpor and Devego-Xipe
