He underscored the northern region’s historical contributions and its ongoing potential to shape Ghana’s national identity.

Afenyo noted that the Northern Caucus will serve as a unifying platform for MPs representing the northern belt, enabling them to speak with a collective voice on issues affecting the region. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Minority in Parliament to support and actively participate in the caucus’s work, aligning with the broader goal of making Parliament a true reflection of Ghana’s diversity and a catalyst for inclusive national development.

He used the occasion to call on all Members of Parliament to look beyond regional and political differences, emphasizing that Ghana’s progress depends on unity and shared vision. He expressed confidence that northern MPs will continue to contribute significantly to national growth and development.

Concluding his remarks, he congratulated the members of the Northern Caucus on their new journey, describing it as a step toward peace, prosperity, and mutual respect. He emphasized that the initiative reaffirms Parliament’s strength in uniting Ghanaian voices for the common good and ensuring that the aspirations of all communities are heard and addressed.

The inauguration was done by, S.k bagbin submitting that through this Caucus, strategic roadmap would be designed, one that identifies and provides key areas of interventions such as the provision of good healthcare system, road infrastructure, rural electrification, water and sanitation, agricultural modernization, industrialization and the preservation of our unique northern cultural heritage.

He was optimistic that the Caucus would strengthen the ties between Parliament and relevant Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), civil society organizations (CSOs), traditional leaderships, and international development partners to bring home the needed development to our people.
