The Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ghana TVET Service, Sebastian Fred Deh, has shared his vision for a reset of technical and vocational education in Ghana, stressing that it goes beyond slogans.
He was speaking on Day 1 of the National TVET Week 2026 Policy Dialogue underway in Accra.

According to him, resetting TVET is not merely changing a slogan, but redefining the future of Ghanaian youth, noting that TVET is the option for those who will build Ghana.
He affirmed that every cedi invested in TVET should produce a skilled graduate and not merely a certificate holder.
Hon. Deh further emphasized that industry must be present in the classroom as the classroom extends into industry, to ensure training remains relevant to the job market and national development needs.
He also challenged industry players to see apprenticeship as the most meaningful form of corporate social responsibility, calling for stronger collaboration between government, industry and training institutions to equip young people with practical skills.
The Policy Dialogue forms part of activities marking National TVET Week 2026, being held under the theme of resetting TVET for skills, jobs and national transformation.
