In a bold display of commitment to transforming the infrastructural landscape of Ekumfi, the Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, has embarked on a comprehensive inspection tour of ongoing road resurfacing projects in the area.

The initiative, which saw collaboration with the District Chief Executive, Ishmaeel Nana Asamoah, focused on key road networks that are central to the movement of goods and people.

Among the critical stretches under review were the Agyankwa–Owiya–Owufa road and the Srafa Koko–Srafa Aboano to Otuam road, both of which have for years posed significant challenges to commuters and economic activity due to their poor condition.

The inspection was not just ceremonial; it was a hands-on exercise aimed at ensuring that the engineers and contractors adhere to quality standards and timelines. Hon. Dr. Kwainoe, known for his results-driven leadership, emphasized that he is “leaving no stone unturned” in his resolve to rewrite the development story of Ekumfi.

“Our people have endured poor road infrastructure for too long. These roads are lifelines for farmers, traders, schoolchildren, and health service users. We cannot talk about real development without fixing them,” he stated.

The MP further reiterated that his ultimate goal is to improve the socio-economic fortunes of the constituency, assuring residents that this is only the beginning of a larger vision to modernize rural connectivity and accessibility.

The DCE Hon. Ishmaeel Nana Asamoah, who joined the inspection, lauded the MP for his relentless advocacy and proactive engagement in local development. He revealed that extensive consultations are ongoing between the MP’s office and the District Assembly to address the impact of waterlogged areas along certain road sections. Strategic measures are being considered to mitigate seasonal flooding and make the roads durable and potentially tarred in future phases.

“Dr. Kwainoe is not just inspecting roads; he’s laying the foundation for real transformation. His push for technical interventions and long-term road improvement plans is commendable. The people of Ekumfi can rest assured that their concerns are being addressed at the highest level,” the DCE affirmed.

Residents in the areas visited expressed excitement and gratitude for the ongoing works, noting that for the first time in many years, they feel seen and heard by their leaders.

As the inspection team moved through communities, it was evident that the MP’s mantra of “development with dignity” is gaining grounds, signalling a new era for a constituency long starved of infrastructural attention.

With ongoing projects being monitored closely and future works in the pipeline, Ekumfi is, indeed, on the mind and firmly on the path to progress.

As part of the inspection were the Assembly members of the areas and opinion leaders.
