Delivering a solemn national address on August 7, President Mahama expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and paid tribute to the fallen officials. “These gallant men served Ghana with unwavering dedication and distinction,” he stated poignantly, emphasizing their contributions to the nation’s development and security.

Acknowledging the natural feelings of grief and the importance of understanding the cause of the tragedy, President Mahama assured the public that the Ghana Armed Forces had taken swift and decisive action. “I want to assure the families, the security services, and the entire nation that a full and transparent investigation is underway,” he affirmed.

He revealed that an Investigative Board of Inquiry has been established to scrutinize all aspects of the incident. The President also confirmed that both the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder have been recovered, promising that these critical pieces of evidence will be thoroughly examined to determine the precise circumstances leading to the crash.

President Mahama concluded his address by reaffirming the government’s commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability. “The safety of our personnel and the integrity of our investigations are paramount. We will do everything necessary to understand what happened and to prevent such tragedies in the future,” he said, calling for national unity and resilience in the face of this sorrowful event.
