Nartey George Pays Emotional Tribute to Victims of Adansi Akrofuom Helicopter Crash

‎The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), was visibly overcome with grief today as he paid tribute to the eight victims of the tragic military helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.
‎
‎The solemn moment took place at the Ceremonial Gardens of Flagstaff House during a wreath-laying ceremony in honour of the distinguished statesmen and military officers who perished in the national tragedy.
‎
‎The victims included the Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna; Vice Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Sarpong; Deputy NADMO Director-General, Samuel Aboagye; and three Ghana Air Force personnel—Squadron Leader Peter Anala, Flying Officer Tsum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo.

‎Hon. Nartey George, accompanied by his Deputy Minister, Hon. Mohammed Adam Sukparu, Heads of Agencies, Directors, and senior officials of his ministry.
‎
‎The Minister and the entourage also visited the residence of the late Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, to commiserate with the bereaved family and to offer words of comfort.
‎
‎Hon. Samuel Nartey George emotional display reflected the deep personal bonds and long-standing relationships he shared with the deceased, underscoring the profound sense of loss within government circles.
‎
‎The tragedy has plunged the nation into mourning, with President John Dramani Mahama declaring a national period of reflection and assuring the public of a full, transparent investigation into the cause of the crash
