The former Member of Parliament for Ashaiman on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, Lawyer Alfred Kwame Agbesi to be buried this weekend at his hometown, Agave-Afedume in the Volta region.
The Pre-Burial Observation in honor of the former MP and former Deputy Majority Leader was held on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at his Residence, Ashaiman Middle East, behind the MTN office.

Born with a passion for justice and humanity, Hon. Agbesi lived a purposeful life anchored on service, empathy, and fairness. As a lawyer, he carried his profession with dignity and used it as a tool for social transformation. As a politician, he gave meaning to leadership by listening to the people, standing with the vulnerable, and representing Ashaiman with an unyielding commitment to progress and peace.
Alfred Agbesi served three terms as the Member of Parliament for the good people of Ashaiman on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress. Throughout his years in this august House, he distinguished himself as a principled, calm, and thoughtful legislator who placed national interest above partisanship.
His contributions to debates were always marked by insight, legal depth, and an unpretentious desire to make laws that uplifted the living conditions of ordinary Ghanaians.
Hon. Agbesi’s parliamentary career was marked by significant milestones that brought honour to Ashaiman and Ghana.
The late Agbesi served with distinction as Deputy Majority Leader of the 6th Parliament under the John Dramani Mahama administration, demonstrating exceptional leadership in steering the legislative agenda of this House.
His wisdom and counsel were sought after by colleagues across party lines. Beyond our national borders, he represented Ghana in the ECOWAS Parliament in 2009 and 2013
