Why do people get bogged down comparing Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy?
They’re two sides of the same coin—different meanings, different impacts.
They tell stories and ruffle feathers in their own way.
Not comparable.
Not headed for the same destination.
One is a cult, the other a movement.
One, unguarded belief; the other, defined purpose.
One is gifted, the other talented.
One is blessed, the other graced.
One moves by conviction, the other by intention.
One is spontaneous, the other conscious.
One is real, the other true.
One excites, the other incites.
One reigns as dancehall king of the local town;
The other dines with queens and kings of the global crown.
One is aspirational, the other intentional.
One rules the street; the other, putuustically, seeks to go higher.
One is the crowd; the other inspires the crowd.
Either way, they make Ghana loud and proud.
Both we love.
And both—we have.
As we speak of both, we must remember yesterday.
That’s why we need a ‘Sponsor’ for ‘Asɔ’ while we chase ‘Big Dreams’.
Ei! ‘O baa gbe mi eh’!
But still ‘We have our own’.
So let’s ‘Pae Mu Ka’,
And truly, Keep our eyes on the road’.
