The Bank of Ghana says it is working to “significantly reduce” delays faced by content creators on X platform when receiving payments, following a meeting with the group on April 22.
In a press release issued Monday, the Central Bank addressed challenges with “delayed receipt of funds” and clarified that the group “has no political affiliation.”

“We state categorically that this group has no political affiliation. They engaged the Bank solely as concerned content creators seeking a practical resolution to a legitimate issue,” the BoG said.
The Bank confirmed that funds earned by X creators “are classified as export proceeds” and said it is working with “all relevant parties to remove bottlenecks and ensure a seamless process for legitimate beneficiaries.”
Statement issued by the Bank’s Communications Department on May 4, 2026 said
“The Bank takes these concerns seriously and is implementing measures to significantly reduce the turnaround time for receiving funds”.
The BoG added that it “remains committed to creating an enabling financial environment that supports innovation, digital earnings, and Ghanaians participating in the global digital economy.”
