Economic Policy and Development Expert, Dr. Alexander Amo Baffour, says the technical policy coordination between the Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD) and the Bank of Ghana (BoG) has played a key role in efforts to stabilize the Ghanaian cedi and bring inflation under control.
Speaking on the impact of the collaboration, Dr. Amo Baffour, who is also NDC National Vice Chairman Hopeful, noted that the partnership has strengthened the alignment of monetary and economic policies, particularly in the management of Ghana’s foreign exchange position and gold resources.
“The coordination between GOLDBOD and the Bank of Ghana has supported government’s broader efforts to restore macroeconomic stability, build confidence in the economy, and create a more predictable environment for businesses and households,” he stated.
According to him, the measures have helped ease pressure on the cedi while contributing to the disinflation trend observed in recent months.
Dr. Amo Baffour emphasized that sustaining policy coordination among key economic institutions will be critical to maintaining these gains.
He added that for economic stability to be meaningful, it must translate into improved living conditions for Ghanaians through lower prices, job creation, and increased business confidence.
He called on government and stakeholders to deepen collaboration to ensure the benefits of the current macroeconomic policies are felt across the country.
