History shall not forget Osahene Alexander Kwabena Afenyo Markin, the Member of Parliament for Effutu and the Minority Leader in Parliament for singlehandedly building Nineteen (19) Libraries in his Constituency, Effutu in the Central Region.
The latest commissioning of the State-Of-The Art ICT and Library Complex at Winneba, Low Cost brings the total number of libraries in the Central Region to 32, making the Central, the region with the highest number of libraries in Ghana.
The facility named after one R. C. Ekem is located at Ntakorfam specifically has the following eatures: Children’s Corner, an open learning space with over 100 seats, 150-capacity conference room and Tech & Innovation Hub with 50 computers.
The rest are: An adult library and research space, executive lounge, office spaces for librarians and rooftop cafeteria.
The edifice was commissioned on 15th December, 2025 and handed over to the Ghana Library Authority for management.
