The Member of Parliament for Krachi Nchumuru, Solomon Kuyon, has rolled out a comprehensive package of social interventions across the constituency, covering educational support, emergency disaster relief and new school infrastructure.
The interventions underscore a sustained commitment to education and community welfare in a predominantly farming constituency where high poverty levels continue to hinder access to higher education.
GHS69,000 Academic Grants for 34 Students:

To ease the financial burden of tertiary education, the MP disbursed GHS 69,000 in direct support to 34 beneficiaries, including freshers, continuing students with outstanding fees, and postgraduate candidates pursuing Master’s and PhD programmes.
The support builds on an annual educational assistance scheme he established during his tenure as District Chief Executive (DCE).
Beyond the direct grants, Hon. Kuyon has successfully lobbied for state-sponsored scholarships. He secured government and GETFund scholarships for 10 students in 2024, following 15 beneficiaries the previous year, with 20 students recently enrolled on full-ride scholarships.
Emergency Relief for Kwame Akora Rainstorm Victims:
Following severe weather that collapsed homes in Kwame Akora, the MP delivered emergency relief items to affected families.
With ongoing rains preventing reconstruction, he distributed food items, clothing, mattresses, sleeping mats, buckets, pans and bowls to sustain displaced residents. He assured the community that cement and roofing sheets will be provided to rebuild destroyed homes once the dry season sets in.
New Classroom Blocks for Underserved Communities:
In a major push to close infrastructure gaps at the basic level, Hon. Kuyon commissioned and inspected several school projects:
Kaliako: Commissioned a new three-unit classroom pavilion to replace a community-built structure destroyed by a thunderstorm.
Dindor: Commissioned a two-unit classroom block through his personal initiative, alongside a complementary three-unit block delivered in collaboration with the District Assembly โ ending a decades-long absence of formal school infrastructure in the community.
Borae Mala:
Provided a temporary school pavilion to shelter pupils during lessons, while work advances on a permanent school block scheduled for early next year.
Projects Spanning Constituency:
Responding to questions on coverage, Hon. Kuyon noted that educational development is spread across multiple corridors in the constituency.
Completed and ongoing projects include a three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Kornado, an ongoing six-unit classroom project at Bawado awaiting roofing, and additional interventions serving Zongo Macheri and adjoining communities.
Residents have welcomed the interventions as timely relief for both students and communities affected by infrastructure deficits and climate-related disasters.
