On Saturday, We Naturals dedicated the Hair & Heritage Hub, Ghana’s first space created to teach, heal, and celebrate natural hair in a way that honours its cultural meaning.
The Hub is not a salon and it is not a place for styling. It is a centre of knowledge and wellness where individuals and families can learn practical ways to care for African hair while reconnecting with its roots.
Through personalized treatments, guided routines, and heritage-inspired conversations, the Hub seeks to restore pride in natural hair and preserve traditions that risk being forgotten.
“At We Naturals we believe our hair tells a story,” said Dorinda Mawuenya Quashie, Founder of We Naturals.
“When we touch our hair, we touch those who came before us. This Hub is here to remind us that African hair is not a burden but a blessing and a heritage worth celebrating.”
The Hair & Heritage Hub is designed to be small, intimate, and intentional. It will host interactive learning sessions, cultural dialogues, and hands-on demonstrations that combine traditional practices with modern knowledge. Every visitor receives a “Hair Journey Book,” a record of both their treatments and the learning that takes place, so that the knowledge continues long after they leave.
For over a decade, We Naturals has been a voice in the natural hair movement, encouraging people to embrace their crowns with pride.
The Hair & Heritage Hub is the next step in that journey. It is not simply about hair care, but about creating a cultural space that affirms identity and keeps heritage alive.
