The Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to restoring flood-affected communities, announcing the full deployment of the Ghana Armed Forces to spearhead the nationwide post-flood clean-up initiative directed by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama.

During an inspection of ongoing operations, the Deputy Minister commended Zoomlion Ghana Limited for voluntarily providing semi-trailers to support waste evacuation. He emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between government and the private sector to ensure the success and sustainability of the exercise.

Brogya Genfi noted that military personnel are actively clearing refuse, desilting drains, and removing debris from affected areas. He added that the Government will also undertake fumigation and disinfection of flood-hit communities as part of efforts to prevent disease outbreaks and safeguard public health.
