A major boost is coming to specialised healthcare in the Central Region as the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) moves to equip Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital with critical diagnostic machines.
Cape Coast is set to receive a 128-slice CT scan, 1.5 Tesla MRI, 3D mammography, stereotactic biopsy system and fluoroscopy machine, while Winneba will receive a 64-slice CT scan, 3D mammography, biopsy system, biochemistry analyser and ultrasound machine.
The announcement followed stakeholder engagements in Cape Coast that brought together traditional rulers, security heads, MMDCEs, academics, students, doctors and other key stakeholders, where the GMTF’s mandate and interventions were outlined.
The goal is to bring advanced diagnosis closer to the people, detect diseases earlier and give more Ghanaians a better chance at timely treatment
