The National Health Insurance Authority has intensified efforts to promote mental health awareness and workplace wellness through a stakeholder roundtable discussion held in Accra as part of activities marking Mental Health Awareness Month.

The initiative forms part of one of the three key pillars of the leadership agenda of the Chief Executive of NHIA, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, which focuses on strengthening internal systems and prioritizing staff wellbeing.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Bampoe emphasized the importance of prioritizing emotional and psychological well-being and encouraged individuals facing mental health challenges to seek professional support without fear or stigma.

The engagement brought together mental health professionals, healthcare experts, NHIA management, staff, and stakeholders to discuss workplace stress management, early care-seeking, preventive healthcare, and access to mental healthcare services through the NHIS.

The programme further highlighted NHIA’s growing commitment to preventive healthcare, staff wellbeing, and the promotion of healthier and more supportive workplaces across Ghana.
