Renowned philanthropist of Central Tongu, Gavivina Okudzeto, has extended support to garment makers in the area with a cash donation aimed at strengthening the activities of the association and enhancing the training of young people in dressmaking.
The donation, according to him, is part of his commitment to empower local artisans and create sustainable livelihoods for the youth in Central Tongu.
Presenting the support, Mr. Okudzeto commended members of the Garment Makers Association for their dedication to skills development and their role in training the next generation of tailors and fashion designers.
He used the occasion to encourage young people who intend to venture into dressmaking to take advantage of new media and digital platforms to learn modern trends and techniques to elevate their chosen business.
He noted that in today’s competitive world, combining traditional apprenticeship with online learning, social media marketing, and digital visibility can transform dressmaking from just a handiwork into a profitable and globally competitive enterprise.
Members of the association expressed their appreciation to Mr. Okudzeto for his continuous support for youth development and community empowerment in Central Tongu, pledging to put the donation to good use.
