The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has confirmed arrest of Dennis Edward Aboagye, former Executive Secretary of the *
Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), popularly known as “Miracles”, in connection with investigations into alleged financial irregularities at the Secretariat.
In a press statement issued on Monday, EOCO said the arrest follows a petition from the current Executive Secretary of IMCCoD requesting further investigations into a forensic audit covering the period 1 August 2022 to 2 February 2025.
According to EOCO, the probe centers on suspected misappropriation, misapplication, diversion and theft of public funds amounting to about GHC55 million.
The former IMCCoD Executive Secretary, Dennis Aboagye a.k.a “Miracles”, and the former Accountant of IMCCoD, Gerald Appiah, are among persons under investigation.
EOCO listed the suspected offences to include: Conspiracy to steal and stealing, Using public office for profit, Causing financial loss to the State, Dissipation of public funds, Defrauding by false pretences and Money laundering
The Office said investigations commenced last year following an initial forensic audit of IMCCoD and the subsequent petition.
EOCO assured the public of its commitment to ensuring accountability and recovering all misapplied state funds
