Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Edem Kpotosu, has expressed solidarity with the people of Hodzoga following recent catastrophic floods that destroyed property, displaced families and disrupted livelihoods.
Accompanied by NADMO Municipal Director Christian Youngs and his team, Ho Central Municipal Chief Executive Stephen Adom, and members of his office staff, the MP visited the community to deliver relief and assess the damage.
“In line with our dedication to assist families in distress, we delivered vital relief supplies aimed at providing immediate help,” Mr. Kpotosu said.
Items donated included: 24 bags of rice. 8 cartons of cooking oil, 15 pairs of Wellington boots. 35 mosquito nets and 2 bags of 50kg sugar.
“Although these supplies cannot completely replace what has been lost, they symbolize our empathy, our collective duty, and our commitment to ensure that no family endures this challenging time in isolation,” he stated.
The MP praised the resilience of Hodzoga residents. “True leadership is demonstrated not just through words but through actions, particularly when our community needs us the most.
The strength, bravery and resilience shown by the people of Hodzoga during this disaster is truly commendable.
Their resolve reminds us that united as one community, we can conquer any obstacle.”
Mr. Kpotosu also expressed gratitude to NADMO, the Ho Central Municipal Assembly and all individuals and organizations that have supported affected families. “Ayekoo to everyone who has contributed in various ways,” he said.
Courtesy Call and Long-term Plans:
After the presentation, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Acting Chief of Hodzo-Aviefe, Torgbe Agbolosu VII.
Discussions focused on pressing community needs including enhanced drainage systems, improved sanitation, youth empowerment, better access to essential social services, and sustainable strategies to mitigate future disasters.
“I reassured Torgbe and the residents that, in partnership with NADMO, the Ho Central Municipal Assembly, and all relevant stakeholders, we are wholeheartedly dedicated to tackling these issues.
The development and resilience of the people of Hodzo remain our top priorities,” the MP assured.
He concluded with an appeal: “Let us continue to pray for Hodzo and collaborate to rebuild stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.
