The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has summoned Parliament to reconvene on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
According to a notice issued from the Office of the Speaker on Wednesday, September 24, 2026, Parliament will sit at 12:00 noon at Parliament House in Accra.
The summons is pursuant to Article 112 (3) of the 1992 Constitution and Order 53 of the Standing Orders of Parliament.
The notice, referenced OP/SPKR/G1/608 and signed by Rt. Hon. Bagbin, states:
“Pursuant to Article 112 (3) of the Constitution and Order 53 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament, I, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, hereby summon Parliament to sit on Tuesday, 29th September, 2026 at twelve noon at Parliament House, Accra.”
The reason for the recall was not stated in the notice, but the House is expected to consider urgent business pending before it.
