The 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Secretariat has convened the signing of the Heads of Terms for a proposed integrated poultry investment under the National Poultry Transformation Programme.
The partnership brings together private capital managers Agrium Capital, Petra Pension Trust and Axis Pension Trust, with Ghana EXIM Bank expected to join as a financing partner.

According to the Secretariat, the project will deliver a fully integrated poultry value chain covering feed production, breeding, hatchery operations, processing, cold chain infrastructure, logistics and market access – a structure aimed at cutting Ghana’s heavy reliance on imported poultry and boosting local production at scale.
The signing marks the formal commitment of the parties to advance the deal, with the next step being the development of the Heads of Terms into a definitive Shareholders’ Agreement to move the project towards implementation and delivery.
The initiative aligns with government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda, which prioritizes food security, import substitution, job creation and accelerated export development, with poultry identified as a key sector for industrial transformation.
