The Member of Parliament for Kpando, Sebastian Deh, has commended the outstanding performance of students from Kpantec Demonstration Basic School and Kpando Kpodzi E.P. JHS, who emerged as winners in the primary and junior high school categories respectively at the maiden edition of the MP’s Inter-School Quiz and Reading Competition held at Bishop Herman College.
The competition, aimed at promoting literacy, critical thinking, and academic excellence among students in Kpando, attracted participation from several schools within the constituency. The event was organized in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service-Kpando and supported by various educational stakeholders.

Kpantec Demonstration Basic School triumphed in the primary school category, demonstrating superior knowledge and reading skills, while Kpando Kpodzi E.P. JHS took the lead in the junior high division, showcasing their academic prowess.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, MP Sebastian Deh expressed his pride in the students’ dedication and encouraged more schools to participate in future editions. “Together, we are restoring hope and investing boldly in the future of Kpando. Education is the bedrock of development, and these young minds represent our hope for a brighter tomorrow,” he stated.

The event was graced by notable guests including Killion Donkor, MCE of Kpando, Mr. Francis Yaw Agbemadi, the Regional Director of Education, and Mr. Paul Agbavor, Municipal Director of Education.
The competition also featured interactive reading sessions, quizzes, and awards to motivate students and teachers alike. The MP’s initiative aims to foster a culture of reading, learning, and academic excellence across Kpando’s educational institutions.
The winners received trophies, books, and certificates, inspiring many young learners to pursue academic excellence. The MP emphasized that such initiatives are vital in nurturing the talents and potentials of the youth in the constituency.
The success of this inaugural edition has set a promising precedent for future competitions, with plans already underway to expand the program’s scope and reach more schools.
