As students across the region prepare to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), Berthy Buah, the Regional STEM Coordinator for Greater Accra, has sent an inspiring message to all candidates, encouraging them to approach their exams with confidence and a problem-solving mindset.
In her goodwill message, Ms. Buah addressed the future scientists, engineers, and innovators, emphasizing that today’s examination is more than just testing knowledge — it is an opportunity to showcase curiosity, observation, and the courage to ask “why?” and “how?” She reminded candidates that their preparation, practice, and dedication have equipped them for this moment.

She shared three key tips for exam success:
- Read carefully — Understand each question before answering.
- Manage your time — Prioritize and start with questions you know well.
- Stay calm — Breathe and trust the knowledge gained from their STEM lessons and activities.
Ms. Buah also highlighted the importance of the practical lessons, STEM camps, international days, and science club sessions that students participated in, noting that these experiences were all designed to prepare them for such critical moments.
She concluded by expressing her confidence in the candidates’ abilities, reaffirming that their teachers and Ghana as a whole believe in their potential. Her message was clear: “Go and make us proud. Write your paper like the STEM champions you are! Science needs you. GO AND SHINE!”
