The Upper West MPs Caucus Chairman, and MP for Daffiama/Bussie/Issa Dr. Sebastian Sandarre, had the joined the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, the Deputy Minister, Alhassan Suhuyini, and a dedicated team from the Ministry to inspect the ongoing Big Push road projects along the Wenchi-Bole-Sawla-Wa highways.
Their primary mission was to ensure that the commitments made by His Excellency the President are being faithfully delivered and that quality work is being carried out for the benefit of the people of the Upper West Region. They aimed to assess the progress of these critical infrastructure projects and to guarantee that they meet the standards expected for durable and efficient roads.

During the inspection, the team made several stops along the highway to evaluate the work done so far. The Minister expressed his displeasure at the slow pace of construction by some contractors and urged them to prioritize their responsibilities, attaching seriousness and urgency to the projects. This stern call underscores the government’s commitment to accelerating development and improving connectivity in the region.
This inspection also responds to concerns raised by the Upper West Caucus, as well as reports from Regional Ministers for Upper West, Savannah, and Bono Regions, regarding the sluggish progress of the roadworks. Moreover, earlier on the day the monitoring team received a petition from some sections of the youth in Wa, demanding that concrete steps be taken to expedite the work on these vital roads.

In response, the Minister and the team assured the good people of Upper West that the government is committed to delivering timely, quality road infrastructure. They emphasized that the people of the region deserve durable roads that will connect communities and foster economic growth.
“We remain resolute in our oversight role and will continue to monitor the projects closely until the roads are completed to the highest standards. Our pledge is to ensure that the people of the Upper West Region receive the infrastructure they deserve, and no effort will be spared in achieving this goal” Dr. Sebastian Sandarre in interview with fmnewsonline.com
