NADMO has officially relaunched the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Risk Management (CCRM) to strengthen collaboration and build a more resilient Ghana.
The Director General of NADMO, Major Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, described the initiative as a major step towards enhancing the nation’s preparedness and response to climate-related disasters and other emerging risks.
According to him, the platform will serve as a vital mechanism for bringing together experts, policymakers, development partners and other stakeholders to promote knowledge-sharing, coordinate interventions and develop strategic actions to reduce disaster risks and build climate resilience across the country.
The event featured presentations by practitioners on the role of the National Platform, DRR/CCRM and Early Warning, aimed at enhancing stakeholder engagement and strengthening collective efforts toward national resilience.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Director General in charge of Sustainable Livelihood and Community Empowerment, Hon. Albert Alalzuuga Akuka, urged stakeholders to remain actively engaged with the platform and contribute meaningfully to its objectives.
He expressed confidence that sustained dialogue, cooperation and commitment from all stakeholders would ensure the success of the relaunched platform and help advance Ghana’s disaster risk reduction and climate resilience agenda.
