Efforts to link private farms and agribusinesses in Kpando to government flagship programs are gaining momentum, with the MP, Sebastian Deh focusing on Agriculture, Trade, Industry, Agribusiness and Education/Skills development.

As Chair of the TVET Governing Council, Mr. Deh joined the Minister of Education to commission a new girls’ dormitory block at Kukurantumi Technical Institute.

The facility is expected to expand access for girls pursuing technical and vocational training.
He also accompanied the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, John Dumelo on a tour of key agricultural, agribusiness and fisheries sites in Kpando.

The team inspected the abandoned irrigation site at Kpando Tokor, Afarinik Sustainable Cocoa Farms, Tropigha Farms at Gbefi, plus cashew, citrus and oil palm plantations at Gadza.
“These farms are already contributing to the local economy.

MP aims to help these privately owned entities tap into government flagship projects in order to expand and generate employment for our teeming unemployed youth,” the MP stated.

Stakeholders say linking private operators to government programs under Agriculture and Agribusiness could unlock investment, revive stalled projects like Kpando Tokor irrigation, and boost value chains in cocoa, cashew, citrus and oil palm.

The visits form part of the #RepairReviveRestore and #resetting agenda, with emphasis on skills development through TVET and job creation in rural communities.
