The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa , has donated about 100 chest freezers to the market women in Juapong Juapong in a move to support local traders during the ongoing market reconstruction.

The The donation comes as part of efforts to cushion traders who have been temporarily relocated to facilitate the construction of the new Mahama 24-Hour-Economy Market.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Ablakwa emphasized the importance of the welfare and empowerment of his constituents. “The welfare and empowerment of my beloved constituents remains a topmost priority. I am committed to ensuring that our market women are supported during this period of transformation,” he stated.

The MP explained that the chest freezers would help the traders preserve their goods and improve their business activities despite the temporary disruption caused by the market development project. The relocation is part of a broader initiative to modernize and expand Juapong’s marketplace, boosting economic activities and creating more opportunities for local traders.
