Mr. Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, Commissioner-General and Dr. Martin Kobil Yamborigya, Commissioner DTRD joined members of the Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT), the female wing of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana (CITG), alongside other stakeholders, to discuss the critical role of women in Ghana’s informal economy and how tax reforms can better support women-led businesses.

The conference, which marked SWIT’s 4th Annual Conference, was held under the theme, “Tax Reforms, Informality and Gender: Implications for Women-Led Businesses in the Informal Sector.”
Mr. Sarpong highlighted the vital role women play in trade, entrepreneurship, and domestic revenue mobilisation while stressing that GRA remains committed to supporting women entrepreneurs through various tax and administrative reforms.

In attendance were the Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Esq -Deputy Chief of staff, Madam. Esi Duma Sam-Regional Chairperson West Africa – SWIT, Mrs Ernestina Christina Appiah- President CITG Ghana, Reps from Association of Women Accountants Ghana (AWAG), Women’s Forum of the Ghana Bar Association, International Federation of Women Lawyers and SWIT West African Countries.
