The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has disclosed a massive expansion of the Authority’s operational presence across the country.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra, Mr. Kotey said that prior to his assumption of office, the DVLA had only 33 operational offices nationwide.

He announced that within 18 months, his administration has opened 30 new offices, increasing the number of visible DVLA offices from 33 to 63— a nearly 100% increase.

According to the CEO, the new offices comprise 12 fully DVLA-owned offices and 18 Ultra Centres established through a public-private partnership model.
“Our aim is to continue to expand our services and bring them closer to the people,” Mr. Kotey stated.

LIST OF NEW OFFICES OPENED IN UNDER TWO YEARS:

12 DVLA Offices:

Adentan, Bole, Dormaa, Bechem, Salaga, Nalerigu, Navrongo, Tumu, Nkoranza, Asuogyaman, Yendi and Atebubu.

18 Ultra Centres:
Tema Port Ultra Centre, Dansoman Ultra Centre, Akwatia Ultra Centre, Asamankese Ultra Centre, North Dayi Ultra Centre, Guaman-Jasikan Ultra Centre, Abuakwa Ultra Centre, Bonwire Ultra Centre, Bantama Ultra Centre, Adum Ultra Centre, Ashaiman Ultra Centre, Teshie-Nungua Ultra Centre, Nsawam Ultra Centre, Anyaa Ultra Centre, Kasoa Ultra Centre, Dome Ultra Centre, Amrahia Ultra Centre and Pokuase-Kwabenya Ultra Centre.

OFFICES CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION:
The DVLA CEO also listed offices currently under construction as Bole, Dormaa, Bechem, Hohoe and Jomoro.

He further revealed that work is ongoing on additional offices at Dambai, Kete-Krachi, Asankragua, Kwashieman, Osino, Ada, Kyebi, Kasoa-Bawjiase, Jomoro, Enchi, Bremang, Twifo Praso and Konongo*, among others.

The expansion drive, he noted, is part of a broader reform to improve efficiency, reduce congestion at existing centres, and make driver and vehicle services more accessible to Ghanaians, regardless of location.
